Entitled Karen wants her kid to join my special day and immediately regrets it Ok so this happened a few years ago on my thirteenth birthday, I decided to have this party at my local skate rink because I have always enjoyed it. My mother pulled out the hole sha-bang for the party, and bought the deluxe party package, which came with 10 dollars in arcade tokens, 2 games of laxer tag, a pizza, a vip party table and of course a skate pass.

So it was me, my mother, and my three friends, who I'll just call Brady, Clare, and Ellie(those aren't there real names) and we were having a really good time for the most part, that is, until Karen shows up. At this particular skate rink, they have a special skate or game every half hour or so, and the game was red light green light.

I ended up being the winner and got to spin the little prize wheel they have and ended up getting a free cookie.I was going up to the snack counter to redeem my prize when karen came up to me. At first I thought she might be trying to also go to the snack counter so I simply ignored her, but that was a mistake. This lady grabbed me by the shoulder and demanded I give the cookie voucher to her and her son as it was his birthday. I told her that that would not be happening as it was also my birthd

huffed and puffed but then exclaimed something I never thought I would hear. She said that if I wouldn't give up the voucher than I should let her angel join the party that I was having. I was at first a bit suprised she knew I was having a party celebration with the package until I remembered that they announce all payed for birthdays on the loud speaker.(side

note, this kid was also not close to my age, she said her son was 9 and i don't even know how she thought I would consider it.) I told her off, got my cookie, and went back to skating. I completely forgot about the encounter until my group was called up for lazer tag. Me and my friends were all up and ready when the entitled Karen's son walks up with us. I thought this was a coincidence that we may just have the same group but when he was asked for his ticket he said that he was with our party.

group. The kids had he was and that his mom was the one who said so. I was pretty 1 at that point that this woman wouldn't take no for an answer so I was pretty astonished when she actually came up to the worker and proclaimed that I was actually her son. I could not believe she went for the most idiotic route which could be immediately disproven.

We got my mother involved where it was immediately proven the woman was no more than a random stranger attempting to take claim of a random child. Things went bad from there as this woman was actually getting escorted out by security for potential kidnapping as the police were called. My family didn't choose to press charges as it was a small thing made big but this woman did end up with a hefty fine and a week in jail. Should I have just let her son join the party?

GypsyGhost6 3 days ago I got confused reading this as some how I read you were turning 30 not 13 The entitled Karen was TA not you. You are allowed to enjoy your birthday without having to include random kids even if his mother was a for not giving him his own birthday celebration.

ccl-now 3 days ago So she told the assistant you were her child in order to get her kid into your party, this did not work and she ended up in jail for a week. Ok.

Lord Victorian. 3 days ago Absolutely not! That was YOUR party and, with your parents' guidance, it was your right to have whoever you wanted there. Don't let some shnorer and her spawn push their way into your fun. Heck, grabbing you like she did should have gotten her in handcuffs. If you were my child, either she would go to jail or I would go to jail if you get my drift. You did the right thing standing up to her; that woman needs a good slap of reality and decency. Definitely NOT the

Siege LL 3 days ago NTJ: the nerve of this person trying to take advantage of you like that. It's one thing if she had asked *politely*. A little awkward but ya sure, I would've let the kid tag along. The way she handled it? No way. What she did was very wrong and the trouble she got into was a direct result of *her* actions, not yours.
